Honey
West was the first female detective to be featured in a
weekly American television series. The pilot for this show was
an episode of Burke's Law (Who Killed The Jackpot? 4-21-65).
Based on the Honey West novels by G.G. Fickling.
Honey West inherited
the family detective business from her late father who was
killed in an alley behind the old Paramount Theatre in
Hollywood. Her partner, Sam Bolt, was also included in the deal.
They tooled around in a specially-equipped mobile crime lab/spy
van with "H.W. Bolt & Co., TV Service" on the
side. She now carried a .38 in her purse and all sorts of
gimmicks: an exploding compact, a garter belt gas mask, teargas
earrings and a lipstick microphone. The love of Honey's life was
her pet ocelot, Bruce. by collectors from various sources.
